Community Events

In addition to meeting basic needs, we believe that every family deserves community. To continue strengthening the community for all, we host annual events where families can create lasting memories and build new relationships with other parents and caregivers.

Community Resilience Workshops

These biweekly workshops are led in collaboration with Nola Black Mental Health Matters, Charity School of Nursing, and other professionals in health and human services. Following each workshop, families can shop for necessary items, include diapering supplies, clothes, and feminine hygiene items

Easter Egg Hunt

Annually, we hold an Easter celebration, ranging from Easter Basket giveaways to Easter Egg Hunts. In 2024, our Easter Egg Hunt took place at Goretti Park where we hosted 100 families.

Back to School Bash

With school supply giveaways being prevalent throughout the city, ours stands out by offering not only school supplies, but also uniforms, fresh food, haircuts, and raffle prizes! In 2024 we were able to distribute 100 backpacks with supplies.

Thanksgiving Food Drive

In partnership with two local schools, Cabrini High and Victory Christian Academy, we are able to collect enough food to provide Thanksgiving meals to 75 families. At the same time as this annual food giveaway, we give away coats to families, preparing them for the cooler months to come.

Adopt A Family Christmas Party

The most magical time of the year doesn't always feel that way when the financial strain felt year-round can become even more pronounced. As a way to alleviate that stress, we invite our most engaged families to submit Christmas wish lists and leave the rest to us. Generous families "adopt" our families, and we gather gifts, pack them into Santa sacks, and invite the families to a special celebration where they can collect their gifts. At this party, families also enjoy a meal together, create arts and crafts, and take pictures with Santa.
