While not a stranger to trauma, raised in a home with domestic violence and substance abuse, Nadia was familiar with the impacts of instability and dysfunction but the loss of Nadia's mother to a botched carjacking in 2018 changed her life. Navigating trauma throughout her life taught Nadia there can be purpose from her pain and losing her mother only drove her further into that belief. She managed to build Love Your Neighbor NOLA, a successful non-profit organization that works to disrupt cycles of violence in the Greater New Orleans area. Part of the mission Nadia is on through her work with Love Your Neighbor NOLA is to share her story of resilience and defiance to not succumb to circumstances but to stand steadfast, working to disrupt cycles of violence by teaching people how to love themselves so they can in turn love others.
